And here we…go.
Well, this is it. We’re at the end of another year in games, but perhaps more importantly this year, we’re at the end of a console generation. It’s a moment that only comes round every few years and it’s time to take stock of the games released over the past eight-and-a-half years. This is me taking stock of those eight-and-a-half years.
I published the Game of the Year list a week-and-a-half ago, but for once, it’s not the big thing this year. That is Game of the Generation. Ten games that have, more or less, defined my generation. Here is the shortlist for my GOTG in no particular order.
Bear in mind, these are the ten games I’ve personally enjoyed most over the generation, not the ten games that are mostly defined as the best from this cycle (Though with that said, there are some games on this that can certainly feature that tag).
