Doo-do-do-do-do.

shining force

We begin tonight with a game that is a Mega Drive classic.

Shining Force is one of the games that would define the Mega Drive, made by a key figure of Dragon Quest’s early days in Hiroyuk Takahashi and perhaps inspired by some of its peers alike, including Nintendo’s Fire Emblem series, of which its newest instalment was just announced recently.

Takahashi now heads up Camelot Software, who are well known for the Golden Sun series, but for Takahashi, his legacy may well be defined by Shining Force.

For writer and independent game developer Kaitlin Tremblay, she pegs it as her favourite game. Listen for the next hour as she goes at length as to how much the game means to her.
